We Found a Mummified Mouse Inside This Antique Cupboard! | Part 1 of 2

Antique furniture restoration takes an unexpected turn when Marc and Lucien discover a mummified mouse inside this 19th-century Scandinavian pine cupboard. Meet Sven, and see the send-off Marc gives him before the repair work begins.

In Part 1 of this two-part restoration, we assess the cupboard, treat it for woodworm, bring loose joints back together and tackle the split, bowed door. Lucien fits a pine patch into a damaged corner, then trims it with a chisel and small hand plane.

The aim is to make this rustic Swedish cupboard sound and usable while preserving its worn original paint and character. Follow the real workshop decisions, traditional hand-tool work and conversations along the way.
