Marc Paints Wood Grain Like Bob Ross! | Walnut Bookcase Part 2 of 5

Sometimes you have to go backwards before you can go forwards. In Part 2 of our five-part Scandinavian mid-century walnut bookcase restoration, we remove the back to work on the piece, then Marc blends the grain repair by hand.

With a palette of coloured filler and a palette knife, Marc works like Bob Ross painting a picture—a true artist at the bench. He sands the shaped top and applies oil stain, bringing the walnut figure back into view. This is the workshop process, with the restoration continuing through Parts 3, 4 and 5.
