How to Care for Tortoiseshell and Shell Inlay

Tortoiseshell and shell were used in boxes, jewellery and furniture inlay. Thin sheets can warp, split and lift as humidity changes.

What not to do

Do not flatten with heat, oil the surface or use adhesive from a tube. Trade and transport may be restricted under wildlife law.
